Biography„True Rocking! True Feeling! True Calling!“
In 2007, the year of the band ́s foundation, they blitzed the competition at numerous bandcontests, judged by professionals from the music industry. After having won the International Newcomer Contest at the historical Festival Hall in Bregenz, STEPHAN ZOBELEY, the guitarist of the HERBERT GRÖNEMEYER BAND, invited TRUE CALLING to record and produce the single I ́m GONE ON HER in his own Zobel Studio in Heidelberg. When they won the Newcomer Contest in Balingen, too, HORST FRANZ, the action man of the Rock Of Ages and Bang Your Head!!! festivals, booked TRUE CALLING for his Rock of Ages festival at Rottenburg-Seebronn – a big festival with classic rock bands such as URIAH HEEP, TEN YEARS AFTER, THE HOOTERS and MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP. When TRUE CALLING played at the Rock For Nature festival (SCORPIONS, JOE COCKER) at Air Field Hohenlohe, the press said: „Perfectly and passionately played songs. Great sound, great songs and likeable charisma on stage.“ During their big farewell tour, THE SCORPIONS started the search for their MySpace Featured Artist, the band which could one day assume their musical legacy. Out of the 500 or so bands that applied, THE SCORPIONS chose the best 10, among which was TRUE CALLING. After being presented to the MySpace community and subjected to worldwide online voting, TRUE CALLING won thanks to an overwhelming amount of votes. Thus, the talented musicians became The SCORPIONS' MySpace Featured Artist April 2010. In April 2011, JAMES KOTTAK, the drummer of THE SCORPIONS, joined the boys exclusively to drum on their new title-track CHANGE, which he recorded under the direction of the prestigious US producer KEVIN HAHN at Opal Studio in Portland, Oregon (USA). This version was released on TRUE CALLING's brand-new EP CHANGE VOL.1 in June 2011. Subsequently, MATTHIAS JABS, SCORPIONS ́ leadguitarist, invited the band to play a showcase at his guitar store MJ Guitars in Munich on 10th September 2011. Numerous fans, not only from Germany, but also from France, Italy and Austria, attended the show in the coolest guitar store of Europe. The highlight of the show: A stunning live performance with MATTHIAS JABS of the SCORPIONS ́ classics RAISED ON ROCK, NO ONE LIKE YOU and ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE. 29th Octover 2011: another NIGHT TO REMEMBER for TRUE CALLING. They supported German Pop-Icon NENA in front of 3200 enthusiastic fans in Bad Buchau, Germany. Next stop: November 2011, Manchester, UK. They shot their first music video for their song CHANGE. In December 2011 TRUE CALLING were awarded the GERMAN ROCK & POP AWARD at Rhein-Main Hallen in Wiesbaden, Germany: CHANGE was awarded the 1st place in the BEST ROCKSONG category and Markus Bekson earned an excellent 2nd place in the BEST ROCKVOCALIST category. In spring 2012, UK producer ANDY MACPHERSON (The WHO, ERIC CLAPTON, ROBBIE WIILLIAMS, SNOW PATROL) will remix their song IF YOU COULD HELP ME.
